Serving Staten Island Since 2014

Stonework Contractor Staten Island

Stone is the finish people notice. A stone-faced front changes how the whole block reads a Staten Island house, and a bluestone walkway or a real stone wall does the same in the backyard. But stone is unforgiving of a bad install. NDCCNY has done stonework across Staten Island since 2014, in both natural stone and manufactured veneer. The difference between stone that looks like it grew there and stone that looks stuck on is all in the prep, the drainage, and the setting. We build the backing the stone needs, then set and point it so it stays put. Our own crew does the work.

Why Staten Island Homeowners Call Us

We are a licensed and insured masonry contractor based in Bulls Head, central Staten Island, working in both natural stone and manufactured veneer. We build the structure and drainage the stone needs, which is what stone jobs live or die on, then set and point it to last. You get honest guidance on which material fits, a free on-site assessment, a written estimate within 24 hours, and work we stand behind. NYC Home Improvement Contractor license #2127843-DCWP.

Natural and Manufactured Stone

We work in both, and we give you honest guidance on which one fits your project, not whatever we happen to stock.

Built on the Right Structure

Stone veneer gets the correct backing and moisture barrier, and heavy natural stone gets a wall or footing built to carry it.

Retaining Walls Built to Drain

Drainage behind the wall is the number-one reason stone walls fail, so we build it in from the start.

Licensed and Insured

Why Choose NDCCNY for Stonework

What Makes Stonework Last

Stone lasts for generations when it is set right and fails fast when it is not. Stone veneer needs the correct backing, moisture barrier, and support, and heavy natural stone needs a wall or footing built to carry it. A retaining wall lives or dies on drainage behind it. Stone is set and pointed with mortar suited to the stone and the exposure, and flashing keeps water that gets behind a facade moving back out. Get the structure, drainage, and setting right and stone is the most permanent finish on the property.

Excellent work from start to finish. The contractor handled the excavation for the test pit, restored the area with concrete, and cleaned everything up afterward. When I came home, everything was in perfect order. Professional, reliable, and easy to work with.
Professional work, timely and detailed, honest and sincere looking forward to working with NDC again in the very near future.

I highly recommend Adeel and his team! This is the second time I’ve worked with him, and the experience was just as great as the first. They recently put down pavers and created a new carport parking spot in front of my house. The quality of the work is top-notch, and they completed the job quickly and professionally. Adeel is always a pleasure to work with—reliable, professional, and excellent at what he does.

I needed my roof capped. Adel gave me a quote and exceeded my expectations. His crew took their time and followed the design of the building. I have other work and I will work with Adel. I have confidence in giving Adel the highest recommendation possible. He took a dangerous and hard job and made it look easy.

We recently had our garden walls and front steps replaced. We used natural stone on the walls and blue stone for the capping/step material. The results are amazing! It looks beautiful. The workers are excellent-highly skilled, clean, and just nice people. We have received many compliments from friends and neighbors.

I recently had my driveway redone, which included both pavers and concrete, as well as a planter installation, and I couldn't be happier with the results! In fact, two of my neighbors had followed in my steps and used this contractor for their driveways as well. After interviewing several contractors, I found this one to be the most responsive and reasonable. He not only had a clear vision for my driveway but even presented it alongside an image, which helped me visualize the final outcome. To my delight, the finished driveway turned out even better than I had anticipated! This contractor is brimming with innovative ideas for enhancing the area he works on, and it was evident that he treated my project and my home as if they were his own. He was always respectful, polite, and kept every promise he made. It was obvious to me that he valued a returning customer and for him keeping a good relationship with a customer even after the job was finished was just as important as gaining a new customer. Throughout the process, he was consistently available to communicate and always listened to my input. The experience felt like a productive and positive dialogue between myself, the contractor, and his crew. I would not hesitate to work with him again for any future projects. Highly recommend!

Stonework Staten Island: Common Questions

Service Areas We Cover

We set stone across Staten Island, working out of Bulls Head. If your street is not named below, call anyway. Odds are good we have already built a wall or a walkway nearby.

Mid-Island jobs take us to Bulls Head, Todt Hill, Emerson Hill and Dongan Hills. On the North Shore we are regularly in St. George, Grymes Hill and New Brighton. On the South Shore we work in Great Kills, Prince’s Bay, Annadale and Tottenville.

Brooklyn jobs in Bay Ridge, Bensonhurst and Dyker Heights are part of the mix too, along with select projects in Bayonne, New Jersey.

2026 Stonework Pricing

Stone prices run wider than almost anything else we build. Natural stone and manufactured veneer sit far apart on cost, and the structure behind the stone can double a job. These are the ranges we have been quoting Staten Island homeowners this year. A real number comes after we see the wall or the yard.

Stonework serviceTypical scope2026 price range
Manufactured stone veneer, facade or accent wallper square foot$28 - $48
Natural stone facadeper square foot$55 - $95
Bluestone walkway or patio, dry-laid on a baseper square foot$22 - $38
Bluestone walkway or patio, wet-laid on a slabper square foot$38 - $65
Stone retaining wall, about 3 ft highper linear foot$190 - $380
Stone steps or stoop, stone-facedper step$650 - $1,400
Stone column or piereach$1,800 - $4,500
Reset loose stone and repoint failed jointsper job$900 - $3,800

Natural stone is the biggest swing. A full natural facade can cost twice what the same wall costs in manufactured veneer, and a retaining wall that needs a poured footing and drainage stone behind it costs more than one that does not. These are working ranges, and every quote is confirmed in writing before any work starts.

How Long Stonework Takes

PhaseDuration
Site visit and written estimate24 - 72 hours
Stone selection and delivery, natural stone is often special order1 - 3 weeks
Veneer on a small accent wall3 - 5 days
Full facade on an average house2 - 4 weeks
Bluestone walk or patio3 - 6 days
Retaining wall, per 20 linear feet3 - 5 days
Mortar cure before sealing or heavy load7 days

Stone does not rush. Special order natural stone is usually the longest wait on the job, and we would rather hold a start date than set stone we are not happy with. You get a firm schedule in the written estimate.

If it is the joints that are failing and not the stone itself, our brick pointing page covers repointing. Stone treads and stoops are covered on our front steps page, and for brick, block and chimney work see our masonry contractor and brickwork pages.
