Patios, Driveways and Walkways

We install paver patios, paver driveways, walkways and garden paths, pool decks, retaining walls and steps, and classic brick pavers. We also repair and re-level sunken paver work that was done wrong, rebuilding the base and re-sanding the joints so it stays put this time.

Why Choose NDCCNY for Pavers

What Actually Makes Pavers Last

The difference between pavers that stay flat for twenty years and pavers that go wavy in two is almost never the pavers. It is the base and the joints. A patio needs about six inches of compacted gravel base and a driveway needs more, the edges have to be restrained, and the joints need polymeric sand instead of regular sand. Get those right and the pavers outlast the people who laid them.

Excellent work from start to finish. The contractor handled the excavation for the test pit, restored the area with concrete, and cleaned everything up afterward. When I came home, everything was in perfect order. Professional, reliable, and easy to work with.
Professional work, timely and detailed, honest and sincere looking forward to working with NDC again in the very near future.

I highly recommend Adeel and his team! This is the second time I’ve worked with him, and the experience was just as great as the first. They recently put down pavers and created a new carport parking spot in front of my house. The quality of the work is top-notch, and they completed the job quickly and professionally. Adeel is always a pleasure to work with—reliable, professional, and excellent at what he does.

I needed my roof capped. Adel gave me a quote and exceeded my expectations. His crew took their time and followed the design of the building. I have other work and I will work with Adel. I have confidence in giving Adel the highest recommendation possible. He took a dangerous and hard job and made it look easy.

I recently had my driveway redone, which included both pavers and concrete, as well as a planter installation, and I couldn't be happier with the results! In fact, two of my neighbors had followed in my steps and used this contractor for their driveways as well. After interviewing several contractors, I found this one to be the most responsive and reasonable. He not only had a clear vision for my driveway but even presented it alongside an image, which helped me visualize the final outcome.

To my delight, the finished driveway turned out even better than I had anticipated! This contractor is brimming with innovative ideas for enhancing the area he works on, and it was evident that he treated my project and my home as if they were his own. He was always respectful, polite, and kept every promise he made. It was obvious to me that he valued a returning customer and for him keeping a good relationship with a customer even after the job was finished was just as important as gaining a new customer.

Throughout the process, he was consistently available to communicate and always listened to my input. The experience felt like a productive and positive dialogue between myself, the contractor, and his crew. I would not hesitate to work with him again for any future projects. Highly recommend!

Paver Contractor Staten Island: Common Questions

Paver Contractor Staten Island: Common Questions

It depends on the size of the patio, the paver you choose, the base you are starting from, and the pattern. A small concrete-paver patio on clean soil is a modest job; a large premium or bluestone patio that needs old concrete removed first is a much bigger one. A real paver contractor prices it after seeing the space, so ask for a free on-site estimate in writing.

Poured concrete is usually cheaper up front. Pavers cost more to install but are easier to repair and do not crack the way slabs do in freeze-thaw winters, so they often win over time.

A properly installed paver surface commonly lasts 25 to 30 years or more, because the base carries the load and individual pavers can be replaced. Lifespan comes down to the base and joints, not the paver.

About 6 inches of compacted gravel base for a patio or walkway, and 8 to 12 inches for a driveway that carries vehicles. Compacting it in layers matters as much as the depth.

Sinking usually means the base was too thin or not compacted. Weeds and ants in the joints usually mean regular sand was used instead of polymeric sand and it washed out. Both are fixable by rebuilding the base and re-sanding.

Yes, when built for it, with a deeper compacted base and driveway-rated pavers. Built that way a paver driveway handles daily vehicle traffic without dipping.

Sealing is optional. It deepens color and makes stains easier to clean, but pavers do not require sealing to last.

All the major brands, including Cambridge pavers, so you can choose the style and color you want.
