Serving Staten Island Since 2014

Brickwork Contractor Staten Island

Good brickwork is one of those things you only notice when it is bad. A wall that bows, courses that wander instead of running level, joints all different widths, a new section that clearly does not match the old brick beside it. NDCCNY has done brick and block construction across Staten Island since 2014. This is the building side of masonry, laying new brick and block, not just repairing old joints: facades and veneer, garden and retaining walls, columns and piers, chimneys, and structural block. We build on a proper footing, tie the work in correctly, and lay it to line so it is straight and sound. Our own crew does the work.

Excellent work from start to finish. The contractor handled the excavation for the test pit, restored the area with concrete, and cleaned everything up afterward. When I came home, everything was in perfect order. Professional, reliable, and easy to work with.
Professional work, timely and detailed, honest and sincere looking forward to working with NDC again in the very near future.

I highly recommend Adeel and his team! This is the second time I’ve worked with him, and the experience was just as great as the first. They recently put down pavers and created a new carport parking spot in front of my house. The quality of the work is top-notch, and they completed the job quickly and professionally. Adeel is always a pleasure to work with—reliable, professional, and excellent at what he does.

I needed my roof capped. Adel gave me a quote and exceeded my expectations. His crew took their time and followed the design of the building. I have other work and I will work with Adel. I have confidence in giving Adel the highest recommendation possible. He took a dangerous and hard job and made it look easy.

I recently had my driveway redone, which included both pavers and concrete, as well as a planter installation, and I couldn't be happier with the results! In fact, two of my neighbors had followed in my steps and used this contractor for their driveways as well. After interviewing several contractors, I found this one to be the most responsive and reasonable. He not only had a clear vision for my driveway but even presented it alongside an image, which helped me visualize the final outcome.

To my delight, the finished driveway turned out even better than I had anticipated! This contractor is brimming with innovative ideas for enhancing the area he works on, and it was evident that he treated my project and my home as if they were his own. He was always respectful, polite, and kept every promise he made. It was obvious to me that he valued a returning customer and for him keeping a good relationship with a customer even after the job was finished was just as important as gaining a new customer.

Throughout the process, he was consistently available to communicate and always listened to my input. The experience felt like a productive and positive dialogue between myself, the contractor, and his crew. I would not hesitate to work with him again for any future projects. Highly recommend!

Brickwork Staten Island: Common Questions

Brickwork Staten Island: Common Questions

It depends on what is being built, a garden wall, a facade, columns, a chimney, the size and height, whether a footing has to be dug and poured, the brick you choose, and whether the new work has to match existing brick. A short garden wall is a very different number from facing a house or building a chimney. We assess the project on site and give a free written estimate.

Concrete block is larger, faster to lay, and cheaper, and it is used structurally for foundations, garages, and the backup wall behind a facade. Brick is smaller, more decorative, and what you usually want on show. A lot of walls are built with a block structure faced in brick, which gives you the strength and speed of block with the look of brick. We help you pick based on whether the wall is structural, decorative, or both.

Solid brick walls are built entirely of brick and carry their own load. Brick veneer is a single outer layer of brick tied back to a structural wall behind it, block, concrete, or framing, and is the most common way brick is used on homes today. Veneer gives the full brick look, but it lives or dies on being tied back properly and having the right flashing and weeps behind it.

Yes. Brick and block are heavy, and any wall of real height needs a poured concrete footing below the frost line to carry the weight and stop freeze-thaw from heaving it. Building a brick wall on soil or a shallow pad is the classic reason walls settle, crack at the corners, and lean. The footing is not the place to save money.

We get as close as possible. Old brick has a size, color, and texture that current stock may not match exactly, so we source the nearest available brick and match the bond, coursing, mortar color, and joint profile so the join is as unobtrusive as it can be. On very old or unusual brick a perfect match is not always possible, and we will tell you that honestly up front.

Yes. We build new chimneys and rebuild failed ones, commonly from the roofline up, where weather does the most damage. A chimney takes exposure on every side and at the top, so it needs sound brick, the right mortar, proper flashing where it meets the roof, and a solid crown. We build them to handle that exposure.

Yes. We build structural block and brick, foundations, load-bearing walls, and piers, as well as decorative work like facades, garden walls, columns, and features. Many jobs are both at once, a structural wall with a finished brick face. If you are not sure which your project needs, describe it and we will tell you.
